Lucas Davenport is at it again tracking bad guys (in this case a woman with presidential aspirations). I have loved this series for years and the audio narrator is “my” Lucas 100%!

Yale needs women
by Anne Gardiner Perkins

Wow. Here we are 100 years after women got the right to vote. But 50 years ago was when Yale half heartedly started admitting women, with very little support or accommodations for them. Yet they outshone the men and made amazing strides for women on college campuses everywhere. A great read, very enjoyable and quick. Less than 300 pages.

Mexican Gothic Silvia Moreno-garcia
View in Library Catalog

Mexican Gothic checks all the requirements of a good Gothic novel, it has enough of an evil and mysterious character(s), a peculiar hero, and a Victorian house that has a lot of secrets. This young author has a lot of talent, I might have asked a bit more from her editor as some chapters at the end are very heavy, but for the most part Silvia does an excellent job with the plot. I really appreciated and enjoyed all the references to the Mexican culture, it was a treat to have them incorporated in the story.

the Sour Grape
by John Jory and Pete O.

This is a good book for younger kids showing the mess you can be in when you are sour, the effect it has on other people, and shows that you really have to look into others to see their real meaning for things. Good pictures. I suggest, if you're little, to read this books.
