Assistant To The Villain

???????????? this book?? LITERALLY had me giggling, kicking my feet, and screaming “they’re so unwell for each other” every other page. imagine if The Office was set in a dark fairytale forest and the boss was a literal villain with ?rage issues? and a soft spot for one (1) chaotic assistant. that’s this. Evie is the definition of “girl help.” the Villain? emotionally constipated and terrifying but like… in a hot way. the slow burn?? chef’s kiss. the banter?? unhinged. the tension??? pls. also the world-building is so fun—it’s giving enchanted murder vibes with a side of HR violations. if you like morally gray love interests, secret trauma, and workplace romance with actual stakes (like…life or death), run don’t walk. can’t wait for book 2, I am feral. 10/10 would risk it all for the Villain.???????

The Gown, A Novel of the Royal Wedding

I loved it! Having been an avid fan of England and interested in Queen Elizabeth all my life, seeing this book at The Nook crabbed my attention. I scooped it up. Well researched, I thihk, with interesting fictionalized characters. I enjoyed learning a lot about the royal wedding itself, the hoopla surrounding it, and the gown that was at the center of attention.

Stephen King brings readers to the fourth novel in the Holly Gibney series run with a a bang. It all starts with a letter to the police under the alias of Bill W. Of Alcoholic Anonymous to kill thirteen innocents and one guilty in an act of atonement. All that while a misaligned man is stalking women’s rights activist Kate McKay is setting out on a tour. The police enlist the help of Holly, while Kate enlist Holly. The book is fast paced from the get go. Fans of Stephen’s past books will enjoy this one as well.
