Josie believes that superheroes are still around, saving the world, even though they haven't been seen for years. But when she actually becomes one, she discovers that she's meant to team up with two other girls: and they couldn't be more different. However, when an evil plot unfolds to get secret technology to the nazis, Josie and her friends know they must put a stop to it. I really enjoyed this book because of the unique characters, and their determination to help in the war effort. However, sometimes the writing was unclear. Otherwise, this is an awesome book. The characters are smart, interesting, and unique, and it's a great book.

Good suspense/ thriller book. I usually figure out what the ending is going to be in these books, but this kept me guessing till the very end!

We Were Liars

This book infuriated me. I was fully hooked by the haunting atmosphere, the mystery, the fragmented storytelling—but when the twist hit, I was mad. ***SPOILERS*** Cadence literally burns the house down with her cousins/bf and the family dogs inside and doesn’t even bother to check if everyone got out safely. She doesn’t open a door, shout a name, nothing. And then we find out—they all died. Because of her. And she’s just been hanging out with their ghosts all summer like that’s totally normal?? It wasn’t just sad—it felt infuriatingly careless. She didn’t just destroy a house. She destroyed lives. Including the dogs. And honestly? The twist didn’t make the book better—it ruined it. I felt totally betrayed. All that emotional build-up, all that grief and confusion, and this is the payoff? That she killed everyone and just… forgot?? I closed the book feeling hollow, shocked, and straight-up angry.

This series continues to get better each book! I feel so connected to the characters. Heartbroken by some events, but the ending was really good!

From page one, I was hooked—hard. Sarah Morgan’s life is supposed to be perfect: remarried, mom-ing hard, and thriving. But when her new hubby Bob pulls a one-night stand…and his mistress goes missing? It’s utter chaos. Plus, DNA from her ex-husband’s old murder case pops up. Twists everywhere. It’s a recipe for binge-reading greatness ??.

The Cigar Factory

Again I've chosen a historical novel from the Book Nook. I've a facination with Charleston, SC, but have never been there. I have a connection to the south through my Mom's NC birth, her ancestors having immigrated to the U.S. through the port of Charleston, and my having lived in VA for 7 years. This is a great story of survival of both black and white people and gives insight to the 19th century Southern culture. I knew nothing about the manufacture of cigars until reading this book. The building where the factory was located has been rehabbed and today houses a number of businesses. I've come to understand that Charleston is big on historic Preservation.

The five people you meet in heaven by Mitch Albom is the first book I read by this author. The story about the old man and how he and others lives are intertwined on Earth was written beautifully by Mitch. my favorite part of the book was regarding forgiveness on Earth (without giving any spoilers haha)! I have recommended this book to my friend who recently recommended Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. I am excited to read that book next!

The Labours Of Hercules, By Agatha Christie (6 Cassettes).

Agatha Christie once again meets and exceeds her fans expectations. This set of short stories further brings to life the world of Hercule Poirot. My favorite short story was the Flock of Geryon. This short story dealt with a cult that invites older, wealthier women to join, and the women mysteriously die soon after joining. Will Hercule Poirot be able to solve this baffling mystery? Read these short stories to find out.

Well written, and obviously well researched, accounting of a forgotten part of our history.
